Josie Linn
Josie holds a BSc(hons) in Psychology and Criminology, a Master of Counselling, and a postgraduate certificate in family therapy. Josie is a current member of the Australian Counselling Association (level 3) and the Australian Counselling Association College of Supervisors and holds Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
With 18 years’ experience of working with individuals, couples and families in psychological and counselling settings, Josie comes from a person-centred theoretical framework, utilising evidence-evidence based practice methodologies to explore the unique needs and goals for her clients. Whether it be cognitive behavioural therapy, trauma focused interventions, or mindfulness-based techniques, Josie applies the most appropriate tools to support the healing process.
Josie also specialises in grief, loss, and trauma counselling, specifically orientated around couple and family counselling to enhance communication and relationship dynamics with a result to foster mutual understanding and connection. Through systemic lens, she explores the patterns, roles, and interactions within the family, helping clients gain insight and establishing positive changes that promote healthy relationships.
For in person appointments, the therapeutic space is in the beautiful Noosa hinterland, where privacy can be respected. Maverick Counselling also offers video and telephone appointments to accommodate clients located in other areas of Australia and New Zealand, and overseas.
